Join us for Customer Appreciation Month at the Upcountry History Museum.

On March 18th, 2021, Bank of Travelers Rest celebrated 75 years in community banking.  As the oldest bank to be chartered and remains headquartered in Greenville County, we are proud of the part we've played in supporting the places we call home.  But we couldn't have made it to this milestone without our customers who contribute to our success everyday.  As our way of saying "Thank You," we are inviting you to be our guest at the Upcountry History Museum during the month of June.

That's right!  We are hosting customer appreciation at the museum for the entire month of June*.  To participate, present your Bank of Travelers Rest debit or credit card at the front desk of the museum.  Your Bank of Travelers Rest card will get you and a guest in (FREE!) to experience the rich history that makes our community such an amazing home.

The Upcountry History Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  Aside from the historic look at life in the Upstate, the museum welcomes visiting exhibits that help you maximize your visit and provide learning experiences for the whole family.  During the month of June, the museum welcomes:

• Once Upon a Time:  Exploring the World of Fairy Tales (an interactive adventure)-  Children and adults will step inside  beloved stores from around the world as they enter the storybook kingdom.  Each tale is brought to life through its own large-scale environment, interactive components, and costumes.  You will be immersed in literature as you discover the meaning and history of tales you've known all your life along with some that may be new to you.  Your imagination will be awakened and creativity sharpened as you become a child again and explore the beauty and magic of storytelling.
• Masters of American Photography- It is hard to imagine an aspect of 20th century without having photos to tell our story.  Whether it's personal or political, intellectual or commercial, photographs have played an integral role in influencing our minds and helping us form our opinions.  This exhibition examines photography in America from the 1880's through the 1980's.  Photography themes help capture the rapidly changing life of Americans through:  portraiture, landscape, cityscape, still life, motion capture, and cultural history throughout this hundred-year period.  
• Salley Mavor: Social Fabric-  Award winning fiber artist Salley Mavor (born 1955) has spent four decades developing her signature style and working methods, carving out her own niche within the children’s book world and the fiber art community. Mavor’s three-dimensional embroidered tableaus have been used as children’s book illustrations, social
  commentary, and stop-motion animation.
