with your Bank of Travelers Rest Credit Card!

Bank of Travelers Rest has begun issuing our credit cards with the Contactless Symbol! When your card has the Contactless Symbol, you’ll look for the Contactless Indicator whenever you reach the checkout at your favorite retailers. Using your credit card’s contactless feature, your transaction will be not only convenient but also secure and touch-free!

How does it work?

Simple. You tap the terminal. But before you do, make sure you’re carrying your new card with the Contactless Symbol and locate the Contactless Indicator on the terminal. With both present, you simply hold the card to the terminal in the indicated spot (marked with the Contactless Symbol). When your card has been read, the terminal will usually sound (with a “chime” or “ding”) and display that the card is approved. It’s that easy!
Most terminals can read the card within one to two inches of the Contactless Symbol. And many terminals have indicator lights that illuminate when the card information has been read.

What do the Contactless Symbol and Contactless Indicator look like?

The Contactless Indicator can be found printed on your credit card. It may also appear on a payment terminal, indicating that you can use your contactless card for payment. The Contactless Symbol will be located in the area of the terminal where the contactless card can be placed in order for the reader to capture the information. Note: Bank of Travelers Rest cards issued prior to July 2022 do not have the Contactless Indicator on the card and therefore are not compatible with the Contactless Symbol.

Can my card still be swiped?

Although millions of terminals around the world now accept contactless payments and display the Contactless Symbol, not all have the ability. Whether the terminal isn’t equipped with the Contactless Indicator or you’re just operating on autopilot, your card can still be swiped or inserted into the chip reader portion of the terminal. Using the contactless form of payment simply provides you with another, more convenient option.
